📱 Connecting a personal Telegram account

How it differs from a bot

You connect your regular Telegram account, the one you already use to chat with customers. Customers do not need to change anything: they write to you as before, and you see and answer their messages in the «Chats» section of WazzaBee. Private chats and groups come into WazzaBee. Channels and messages from bots are not loaded.

If customers should write to a separate assistant account, connect a Telegram bot.

Step 1: Get a QR code

    1. In WazzaBee, open «Channels» and click «Add channel»
    2. Choose «Telegram», then «Telegram Account»
    3. In the «Channel name» field, enter a name you will recognize, for example My Telegram
    4. Click «Get QR code»

Step 2: Scan the QR code in Telegram

    1. Open Telegram on your phone
    2. Tap the ☰ menu → «Settings» → «Devices» → «Link Desktop Device»
    3. Point your phone at the QR code on the screen
    4. Click «I have scanned it»

If the QR code has expired, click the refresh icon under it to get a new one.

Step 3: Cloud password (if enabled)

If two-step verification is on in Telegram, WazzaBee asks for your Telegram cloud password. Enter it in the «Cloud password» field and click «Confirm».

Done: you will see «Telegram account connected!». The last 10 chats load right away, the rest load as new messages arrive in them.

🔄 If Telegram closed the session

Telegram can end the WazzaBee connection: for example, if you terminate the session in Telegram under «Devices», or if Telegram resets it on its own. New messages then stop coming in, and the line in «Channels» turns red with a «Reconnect» button.

    1. Click «Reconnect» on the line card
    2. In the line settings, click «Reconnect Telegram»
    3. Scan the QR code as in step 2 and enter the cloud password if asked

The line reconnects: your chats, plan and settings are kept. Messages customers sent while the session was closed will not appear in WazzaBee.
